Michael

(Here are the things you need to know about Michael. Every angel knows most of this, as well as every fallen angel and probably 99% of the demons. Not every Chosen One is going to know this stuff, and chances are most humans don't either.)

Celestial Hierarchy: Seraphim

Duties: He is chief of the order of virtues, chief of the archangels, prince of the presence, angel of repentance, righteousness, mercy, miracles, insomnia, repentance, truth, sanctification, blessing, immortality, patience and love to human-kind, justice, protection, and sanctification; also ruler of the 4th Heaven, tutelary sar of Israel, guardian of Jacob, conqueror of Satan. Patron of grocers, mariners, paratroopers, police, and sickness.

Important points to keep in mind

Michael is the leader of all the angels. His rule supercedes all others.

He's the leader of God's army. When Michael gives the battle cry, all fallow.

He's the Prince (ruler) of Fifth Heaven.

When Michael gives a command, all follow without question (or at least with out outward question)

Traits only Michael has (as in, no one else can do this shit, don't write it into your character)

Michael is the only angel with complete control over time. Other angels may be able to slow down time a bit, but not much. Michael can stop time, slow it down, or speed it up.

He's the primary angel over fire because he's the archangel. He controls it.

He is the adversary of The Devil. No one else can claim their job is to fight the Devil.

Things everyone knows about Michael

Michael has a horrible temper. Not as bad as Gabriel's, but he sets off quickly.

He's rather pompous, he's the top dog in heaven, he knows it, and reminds others of it a lot.

However, he's very compassionate, everyone knows he has the best interests of heaven and earth in mind.

He's the Holy Warrior, he's very passionate about fighting for right and justice. It seems like this is a trait that's always 'on'.

Michael has a very strong personality, almost overbearing, he's not easily approachable, but he's well respected because of his devotion.

He's the protector, Gabriel is the aggressor. Which seems a little backwards, but he's not nearly as bloodthirsty Gabriel. When fighting together, he takes the role of Gabriel's shield (Gabriel is the sword of God, Michael is the shield…)

Michael is the judge, especially of humankind. In this role he works with Gabriel. Michael is God's judge, Gabriel is God's executioner. Michael weighs the souls, decides who is just and good, Gabriel punishes those that Michael deem as sinners.

Michael and Gabriel argue a lot… I mean A LOT…

Things not so well known about Michael (angels and fallen angel information, all other characters forget you read this)

He wasn't always top archangel. It used to be Lucifer, then when Lucifer fell, it became Michael. He was second in command at the time, but always leader of God's Army. Lucifer was never leader of the army.

Michael is constant energy, he never seems to stop.

Michael is very confusing in his relationship with his brothers, except for Raphael. He absolutely babies Raphael. Uriel's attitude and tendency towards secrecy annoys him to no end, however, when they are seen together, Michael and Uriel seem to always be particularly friendly with each other. And even though he is constantly fighting with Gabriel, he doesn't dare contradict Gabriel.

Michael doesn't show emotion well, particularly tenderness.

Michael is extremely close to Gabriel, even though they fight a lot. Those closest to Michael see a side of him that is completely confusing. He's very tender and caring to Gabriel (except when Gabriel does something to piss him off then he's very violent with Gabriel, but Gabriel is violent right back).

Michael is the personification of masculinity, Gabriel is the personification of femininity. They are ying and yang, they are lost without each other. But it's also why they can't get along with each other.

Michael likes to spend his free time watching movies. Particularly sappy movies.

If not watching movies, his free time is spent with his brothers doing not much of anything.

Things almost no one knows about Michael (except a few, Uriel, Raphael, Lucifer and Gabriel. It's only in here so that no one picks it up as a character trait. So don't use this information until Sev brings it up)

Michael was the third archangel created, shortly after Lucifer was created.

Gabriel was the one responsible for setting Michael into motion (basically waking him up when he was created), he is a fire so bright that he burned Gabriel when Gabriel first touched him, so Gabriel, out of instinct, tried to destroy him. That became a constant pattern with Gabriel and Michael.

Michael originally held the position of third highest ranking angel, Gabriel the second, Lucifer the first, but Michael pushed Gabriel out of his position. So it ended up when Lucifer fell, Michael became the highest ranking angel, though even before Lucifer's fall, Michael had pretty much taken that position. However, there are some references still around that site Gabriel as the highest ranking angel in heaven, those are generally regarded as mistakes.

A lot of Michael is tied up in Gabriel because Michael was created to be the opposite of Gabriel. Over time, Michael began to not only be everything Gabriel wasn't, he started to compliment Gabriel's short comings and vise versa. If one should cease to exist, the other probably would as well. Where Michael and Gabriel end, Raphael begins.

Because Michael is fire, he absolutely depends on Uriel (as earth) and (mostly) Raphael (as air) to keep him going. They fuel him. Gabriel, as water, is the one thing that can utterly destroy him, he's aware of that. Raphael and Gabriel don't depend on anyone to keep them going (Uriel depends on Raphael and Gabriel to fuel him, but Michael can destroy him, and Raphael and Gabriel can do him a lot of harm).
